I have a faily new laptop (about 1year old)
I do get this popup sometime.
I have btrfs root partition and an encrypted xfs home partition
How would I be able to prevent a disk failure. Do I check the disk or just replace it?
What application does this disk check?/Where does it come from?
There were many reports on all IT related channels regarding this topic. The Samsung 980 has a firmware problem which makes the SSD die really early. Now that you already hit the problem it is to late as the solution would have been to update the firmware before such error messages occur…
