You have a mix of Repos for different openSUSE Versions…
Delete them and do:
zypper dup --allow-vendor-change
So you will get an Tumbleweed System.
So I have to delete 4-6 or all of them before I run this command? How do I delete a specific number?
What I’ve done: deleted yast software repositories from 4-6 instead and then run the command. That didn’t work out so well. :shame:
That didn’t work out so well.
What did not work???
Dear bestlinuxfinder,
Welcome to the openSUSE forums.
We here are openSUSE users like you. That means amongst other things that we can not read minds, nor can we look over your shoulder.
Thus when you change your repo list as shown above, show it anew so that all here can see how it is now.
Same for “I run the command …”. Copy/paste command and output into your post. Else nobody can help you.
Hello hcvv,
Thank you for your friendly comment and thank you I have a very positive first impression of the opensuse community so far. You’re right! :rolleyes:I guess I have to delete everything leap-related?

I am not a Tumbleweed user myself. But one thing is for sure, you should not have Leap repos in your TW installation.
I also doubt about the Factory one.
The thing is that when I look at your list and remove in my thoughts the Leap ones, not much will be left over.
I will leave it to the TW users to comment if you are missing things.
The above list is a mess. You may show some more legible output. I am using these repos since 5 years:

You want the bold ones. Be careful with additional repos. Add them with low priority (100 is lower than 99) if feasible.
When I list or add a repo in 15.3 I get this warning:
# zypper lr
Repository priorities are without effect. All enabled repositories share the same priority
So apparently priorities do not work anymore (since 15.2 at least).
Hello,
I did what you’ve told me and now I only have these 4 repos. I’ve succesfully run the command:
zypper dup --allow-vendor-change
afterwards.
Then I’ve reinstalled discord. Discord will not work anyway. I’ve restarted the system and still no discord. Why is that?
Again, saying “will not work” does not provide any useful information. Tell (exact and precise) what you do and what you get. Best by using a command from the CLI. When it is a GUI program and it simply refuses to start, then always try from the a terminal (like konsole in KDE) inside your GUI, this might give messages you will not see in the GUI.
discord
And when you can only show us what happens in a GUI window, then make screenshot and post to paste.opensuse.org (post the link of the page here, not the link of the image).
Open an terminal and as User:
discord
Post all.
Hi,
It was a misunderstanding:
opensusetry@localhost:~> discord
Discord 0.0.16
Starting app.
Starting updater.
[Modules] Modules initializing
[Modules] Distribution: remote
[Modules] Host updates: enabled
[Modules] Module updates: enabled
[Modules] Module install path: /home/opensusetry/.config/discord/0.0.16/modules
[Modules] Module installed file path: /home/opensusetry/.config/discord/0.0.16/modules/installed.json
[Modules] Module download path: /home/opensusetry/.config/discord/0.0.16/modules/pending
Sure, they still work. But if all repos have the same priority, then it doesn’t do anything.
For me it was working after installing chromium-ffmpeg-extra.
As root:
zypper in -f chromium-ffmpeg-extra
As user:
discord
I run 15.3 thus it can be different on Tumbleweed.
When I search for discord (in YaST > Software) and then select it and use the Versions tab, I see versions from non-OSS, OSS and Packman.
I have the general idea that when something is also available in Packman then that version should be preferred (because the OSS version may not support all codecs).
The OP said he changed his repos list, but we have not seen the new list
Maybe he should add Packman and do the Vendor Switch.
I do not use discord, but I have seen an bug in Tumbleweed:
discord starts fine after booting, but if you close it (also the system sections icon), discord do not start anymore.
Solution is:
discord --no-sandbox
Thanks to Miuku from #opensuse irc:
[19:06] <Miuku> No idea but the no sandbox is a typical trick for Electron applications like Discord. They were having issues earlier too.
[19:07] <Miuku> Usually if discord falls on its face, it usually complains about things like unable to use 3D acceleration and then it commits seppuku.
[19:07] <Miuku> opensusetry: I would move/rename/remove .config/discord and try it again. It’s most likely somehow borked itself.
