Dell XPS 15 9530 / sound hardware not recognized / no sound

Hello I have a Dell XPS 15 9530. The sound hardware works fine in Fedora, however OpenSUSE Slowroll does not recognize any sound hardware and therefore I have no sound.

I did install the alsa-firmware package as shown in this page:

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting

This did not fix the issue.

I also ran the commands for gathering information from the aforementioned page.

I am not able to include the output from alsa-info because it contains too many hyperlinks, but I can at least post this:

wiking@xps15:~> inxi -Aa

Make sure that the ‘sof-firmware’ package is installed.

Thanks. That fixed it.

Good result.

FWIW, it is mentioned in the troubleshooting guide
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting#Firmware

I see what you mean that it is in the docs.
