Dell 6K and 4K monitors not rundning at optimum performance On my OpenSuse Thunbelweed.
The setup:
Pc AMD Ryzen 9 3950x
AMD Radeon Sapphire NITRO+ RX 7900 XTX 24GB Gaming OC Vapor-X
Monitor a: Dell P2715Q 4K 3840x2140 8Bit monitor at 60Hz
Monitor b: Dell u3224kb 6K 6144 x 3456 vid 60 Hz
What driver AMD pro or mesa driver, can solve the problem!! And how to install it (Step by step guide please I am noob)
When I run OpenSuse both monitor works but not at its peak preference! As I mentioned above!
It’s either lower resolution, lower hz or lower color Bit on both monitors on OpenSuse!
But Windows 11 PRO Workstation both monitor works at peak preferenser! @
Dell P2715Q 4K @ 3840x2140 8Bit at 60Hz. - Mini display
Dell u3224kb 6K @ 6144 x 3456 12Bit at 60 Hz. - HDMI
So how can I solve it, does anyone have any idea!
Does anyone been able to install AMD Proprietary (AMD PRO) drivers on to OpenSuse Thumblweed successfully and it works correctly!
As you don’t tell which desktop environment you are using…
Most desktop environments have a setting where you can adapt monitor resolution and frequency.
Running standard TW with no special drivers and all runs fine on my Dell 38" curved monitor from 2019 at 3840.
(AMD graphics, no gaming cr&p). KDE Plasma, with desktops and laptops.
Yes it does but nowere can i change the color bit max is 8 or 10 and its automatic and i can’t change. 12 bits its not even show up @ my 6K monitor.
and if i change the cable then 4K only get 30hz at 4K resolution through HDMI and 6K becomes 4K at 60hz.
On windows its 4K @ 60 Hz 8 bit through mDp and my 6K through HDMI @ 60Hz 12 bit’s color.
I have try Gnome 45.2 and small success is that i mange to mak both Monitor go native resolution @ 60hz but still not 12 bit color on my Dell 6K monitor on mDP.
On HDMI its not working… Why.
Anyone mange to install AMD Proprietary (AMD PRO) drivers on to OpenSuse Thumblweed successfully??
I have try but no luck…
