I’m trying to start a daemon service, but I get the following error
daemon: command not found
also, /etc/init.d/functions is an empty directory
Is there some other directory I should point to or a command that is equivalent to daemon?

startproc, you might also what to use the /etc/init.d/skeleton file as
it’s the template for suse-fying start/stop processes.
