Hi,
I am facing some issues using openSUSE 12.3. On installation, the entire setup was working fine. I just updated my system, and I am facing the following issues:
1.) Cursor keeps flickering. This generally happens when I try to scroll.
2.) When I put my laptop to sleep, I am not able to recover from it. I get a blank screen, and nothing works after that, and I have no option but to turn off using the switch.
I am running openSUSE 12.3 with KDE 4.10.3 release 1
My system specs are as follows:
Intel Core i5 Third Gen
8 GB RAM
Intel HD 4000
Realtek 8723ae Wireless (I have installed the compat-wireless package from source to get this running)
Please let me know what I can do to fix this.
Thanks in Advance
It may be helpful if you tell us what laptop it is exactly. In my opinion sleep issues are a common problem and are mostly hardware based as far as I can tell. You can start to diagnose sleep problems on a laptop by knowing exactly what hardware components your laptop has so you can google sleep issues. The next thing to do is look at the pm-suspend logs.
Flickering cursor seems like maybe a wrong video driver or known problem, I would google intel hd 4000 with you problems and see what you find.
I am using a Toshiba C850 laptop. I am running openSUSE 12.3 besides Windows 8.
I checked up the pm-suspend logs, and I found one section which may be the issue.
SUSE Paste
I am not very sure what the problem here is. I will try reinstalling the Intel Driver and see
