CUPS: "Unable to add document to print job."

I’ve just set up a print server (using Ubuntu 14.04 Server). It has a Dell C1760nw printer connected via USB.

After much novice configuration effort, I was finally able to print from a client (which is this machine running openSUSE 13.2).

Now I can remotely print files from GIMP and other client applications on the server printer, but the CUPS Maintenance Print Test Page shows up in the print queue with the message shown in the thread title.

The Test Page prints fine using SSH on the client remotely logged in to the server, and when logged in physically at the server (with Links).

Any ideas how to fix this?

Now we have remarks in both threads saying to go to the other one.

@JohnVV, while we value your trial to draw attention to the double posting, please do so next time by reporting it using the report icon (the triangle with the ! below each post). Then the mods can decide which one should be closed.

I will leave this one open, because the other one is already closed for some time and is anounced to be removed.

I hope everybody can cope with the confusion created :wink:
