Somehow I cannot access the Credential Store. Where does it live, can I remove it, can I see which accounts are stored?
- which desktop environment
- which app are you using that tries to save a password
- what password manager/tool/credential store are you using
- is the credential store unlocked by means of the master password
- …
Gnome.
QLog in this example, but others pop up this dialog as well.
No idea, that is why I ask this here: what is the application, how to find the database,…
yes, there is a password question, I do not have it.
Is automatic login enabled?
@NespaLa This QLog? https://github.com/foldynl/QLog
Is grayed out and off. I do admit I tried to switch to automatic login some time ago …
I do not understand what you are trying to say. Do you enter user name and password to access your system?
Yes I do have to log in uid/pw into the gnome desktop session.
Tried to get rid off that some time ago, but failed.
Then I expect GNOME Keyring to be unlocked. Logs after logging in may offer some hints. Reboot, log in, capture output of
journalctl --user -b --full --no-pager
upload to https://paste.opensuse.org/, post link here.
I think I found the mighty tiny and untouched for half a year files here:
~/.local/share/keyrings> ll
total 8
-rw------- 1 leo leo 105 Aug 22 18:10 login.keyring
-rw------- 1 leo leo 207 Aug 22 18:10 user.keystore
¨The password you use to login into your computer no longer match that of your login keyring.¨
Now, how can I clear this ring safely, so I can buildup again, remembering the password this time?
I expect that deleting these files should clear everything.
oh yes, if some application ( like qlog ) wants to store a password, I get a nice dialog to create a new master password!
