Couple of Leap 16 beta questions

Hi there,

Just installed Leap 16 beta in a vm for testing and have a couple of questions.

Running plain old XFCE.

  1. Is there an install of nmap somewhere, I tried searching in Myrlin, but could not find it, just nmap-parse-output.

  2. I have installed cockpit from Myrlin, how do I invoke it? I know it’s web based, but might be an idea to put a link in one of the menus once installed (if it has, I have missed it!).

Cheers.

Phill.

For 1) Set the search filter to „contains“ instead of „auto“ (which translates to „start with“)

For 2) Simply bookmark the adress http://localhost:9090 in your browser.

  1. nmap has a non-free license, so you need to enable non-free repo
  2. enable/start the cockpit.socket then you can browse to https://localhost:9090

Hmmm. Should have installed the newer “Leap 16 RC” version. A Release Candidate is a newer version than a Beta version. :+1:
