Hello,
How can we install warp on opensuse leap? Or why not an official package for that well known vpn/dns service?
Hope opensuse team and cloudflare is gonna collaborate on this.
Thanks.

There is already an RPM for it?
Linux client download page:
https://pkg.cloudflareclient.com/
RPM repo details:
https://pkg.cloudflareclient.com/cloudflare-warp-ascii.repo
Can I directly add the repo, no flaw?
or someone lead the correct manner. I’m not a geek
UPDATE :
I manage to add via chatgpt
wget https://pkg.cloudflareclient.com/cloudflare-warp-ascii.repo
sudo mv cloudflare-warp-ascii.repo /etc/zypp/repos.d/
sudo zypper install warp
Problem: nothing provides ‘dbus’ needed by the to be installed cloudflare-warp-2024.2.62-1.x86_64
Solution 1: do not install cloudflare-warp-2024.2.62-1.x86_64
Solution 2: break cloudflare-warp-2024.2.62-1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies
Why this occurs dbus-1 already there
sudo zypper install dbus-1
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'dbus-1' is already installed.
No update candidate for 'dbus-1-1.12.2-150400.18.8.1.x86_64'. The highest available version is already installed.
Resolving package dependencies...
Nothing to do.
???
Cloudflare warp can not be distributed or provided by any linux distribution, as it is closed source and incompatible with any free licence. Read their legal documents…
Because it does not ask for dbus-1
, it asks for dbus
. Different distributions use different package/feature names for the same software. This package is built for the RH, and apparently RH names D-Bus package dbus
while SUSE names D-Bus package dbus-1
.
You may try to ignore missing dependency in which case it may (or may not) work.
I tried ignoring it and installed. but this time warp won’t start
Error: “Unable to connect to CloudflareWARP daemon. Maybe the daemon is not running?”
and trying to start service.
sudo systemctl start warp-svc.service
Failed to start warp-svc.service: Unit warp-svc.service not found.
too annoying! hope our team can find a way to install it. I do not use community packages for safety reasons.
thanks.
