This is alpha of course but I know someone has to be working on this for eventual inclusion in repos. Is there a central place this is being discussed or individuals can try to help out? Everyone just building off of github atm?
@butcherbird @rrahl0 is the Maintainer on openSUSEā¦
@butcherbird we have a matrix channel at #cosmic:opensuse.org. Sadly I am not sure if those also exist on irc/telegram/discord.
I am in the process to actually write a wiki page (you can find the very beginning on that on Portal:COSMIC - openSUSE Wiki) but nothing is there (for now)
Sorry to ask, but is it ready to download? Since alpha is now out from system76 with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS I keen to test spin, but not on Ubuntu openSUSE one
Seems thereās a repo for now, but I canāt find any ācosmic sessionā in SDDM after installing the packages, so I just assume that it doesnāt work.
According to file list, cosmic-session
package comes with /usr/share/wayland-sessions/cosmic.desktop
. Is this package installed?
My bad, seems thereās an error with the repo, and thatās why the OS is not downloading and installing the packages from it.
"The repository ācosmicā is invalid.
[cosmic|Repositories for X11:COSMIC:Factory - openSUSE Build Service] No valid metadata found at the specified URL
History:

"
Which is correct. Your link is not a link to the published repository. The correct link is
/repositories/X11:/COSMIC:/Factory/openSUSE_Factory - openSUSE Download
Sheesh, thanks for helping. Took me ages to understand which link made sense.
