Correct corrupted bluetooth -- headphones can connect but not an output

Bluetooth working for 3 days w/o problem using linux audio in same apps as before. Reconnected uneventfully after 1 reboot by just turning power back on. Reconnected uneventfully after 2 disconnections for recharge.

My only fix for the problem was disconnecting motherboard bluetooth in exchange for a usb bluetooth dongle with anternna. After this change bluetooth suddenly started working using the same bluetoothctl controls that had previously not worked. I am incredulous that I have anything more than a temporary working condition. I don’t contend that this has been solved when nothing was fixed.

I may try a test to go back to mb bluetooth to verify whether this change was the silver bullet.

The X99_DELUXE motherboard provides a connector for a BT antenna (and possibly a bundled antenna with cable too?): is an antenna connected when you test MB BT?
If not so you may simply not get enough sensitivity / range out of that card.
You mention a “dongle with antenna” as an alternative and that might make a big difference.
