Confused with new Nvidia Driver

I see that a new Nvidia driver has been added to the nvidia repo at:

https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed/x86_64/

I was using the 580-106-08 driver and am trying to upgrade to 580-119-02.

All the rpm’s install fine, my problem is that I can’t find the open nvidia driver. The installed:
nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-kmp-default-580.105.08_k6.17.7_1-2.2.x86_64.rpm was removed as part of the upgrade

and there does not appear to be an equivelent nvidia-open driver - G07 that matches. The published rpm’s seem to numbered 590.44.01.

My graphic card is a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. Am I missing something or is it a case of just waiting? Many thanks.

It was probably replaced by the closed source driver but with so scarce information it is hard to guess.

Thanks very much for posting.

I show below a inxi -Gsaz report. Does this help:-

@dth2 what does /sbin/modinfo nvidia | grep license: show?

This shows:

license: Dual MIT/GPL

You must be using one of the nvidia-open-driver-G07-xxx drivers, the only type available with 590.44.xx version.
Check zypper se -si nvidia and post the result here if you need help.

@dth2 So that is the open source driver…

Many thanks for posting.

I have been using the open nvidia driver for a few years as it it saves messing about with registering the mok but have just installed the closed driver as the easier option.

Thanks again.
