compiz effects with kwin -how to?

Hi everyone. I’m struggling with desktop effects and would like to setup something useful. When I select compiz as wm from fusion-icon, title bars of all windows disappear and can’t get them back. I tried the suggestion on Compiz Troubleshooting - openSUSE and entered the command

sudo nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals -d 24

since I have a nvidia card, but that doesn’t help. However if I change wm to kwin title bars come back, which is ok, but I can’t use compiz effects (screensaver and others). So what I would like to know is, if it is possible to make kwin use effects of compiz and how can I do that. Any help much appreciated.

You cannot use compiz or kwin at the same time as window manager as they are both composite windows manager.

But I had the same issue when starting compiz after I installed it from the repository proposed by yast.

It worked for me, I can now use all the effects of compiz without the issues you and I had before.
