On Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, any one visiting the CodeWeavers’ Web site (CodeWeavers - Your Home for Windows Compatibility on Mac and Linux) will be given a deal code that will entitle them to one free copy of CodeWeavers’ award-winning CrossOver software. Each copy comes complete with support.
Hmph, it seems only Americans are entitled to a free copy. On the other hand, if you live in Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, etc. maybe this includes you? lol!
They got so overloaded they just gave the unlocked versions away for free. I got both. I installed the game version and installed an old windows game. It ran pretty well except I couldn’t adjust the screen size to fill the monitor. Worse, after I shut it down, it messed up my kde 4.1 desktop. Well, the plasma panels got messed up. The first reboot didn’t fix it, but a second one seems to have done the trick.
I see they’ve extended the period to 30 Nov? , but that is probably if you had already registered? Or am I missing something? Ifso, does anyone have a working (legal) link to the software?
Hi
I got mine before the rush (so did my wife )… then the downloads
were unlocked anyway so you didn’t need the serial number to use…
just to register for support I guess.

IF you received a code and you register it by Nov 30. In the end, what they effectively did was give away unlocked software to everyone who was able to download it.
If you got your hands on a code (and you register it), you also get a year of support and (I think) updates.
