Cockpit Application for 389-ds in Leap 16.0 (RC)

I’d like to note that openSUSE Leap 16.0 (RC) is missing the Cockpit module for administrating LDAP specifically the new standard 389-ds (replaces openldap). If I knew how, I would like to encourage the packagers to make this available - it is really useful and it is included in the sources of 389-ds on github.

Nevertheless, you may use a Fedora RPM and extract simply /usr/share/cockpit/389-console/. E.g. cockpit-389-ds-3.1.3-9.fc44.noarch.rpm worked like a charm. However its design is more blue than green like Fedora is. But I am sure you could change the css easily if you are familiar with cockpit on openSUSE (I am not).

Yes, Cockpit is an actively developed project, and its modular design means new plugins and features are frequently added. Many of these plugins are listed on their web page:

Someone from the openSUSE community would need to step up as a package maintainer. Maybe submit a request for it at Log in to Bugzilla
