Hello,
So, the title says it all, and the question is obvious: What can I do to shorten the boot time?
Details:
- The result of systemd-analyzed blame, only the top lines:
5min 35ms cleanoldsepoldir.service
30.677s firewalld.service
26.591s update-desktop-database.service
25.379s postfix.service
I can understand the 30 second boot time as my computer is quite old and it’s behind a company’s firewall, but the 5 minute period on top of that is a bit much.
- inxi -aS, just in case:

I did an upgrade this morning (zypper dup), and have rebooted the computer a couple of times since.
- Service Manager is showing this:

while its log is listing this for cleanoldsepoldir
and for snapper
I didn’t make any changes to how or when these two services are run, so everything is by default (as far as I know).
So, why are these two misbehaving and what can/should I do?
Thank you.
