If I set the charge limit under advanced power settings to 95% it is reset to 100% after reboot. Is this upstream or a hardware issue? This also didn’t work on plasma 6.5, so it’s not a new issue.
I can only say that this works as expected here. Please create a new user, login as that user and check whether behaviour is the same. If not, there is something wrong in your ~/.config, if it’s the same we need to investigate your system.
I created a new temp user and the same behavior results. The setting will be remembered if I log out/in (both my normal user and the temp one). After a reboot, it is back to 100%
This can really be dependent on your hardware, as to whether this setting sticks or not.
Not saying it’s not a problem, but depending on your hardware, there may not be a software solution for it.
It generally works on Thinkpads, for instance, but might not on an HP, or Acer, or Samsung, or whatever.
Ok thanks, I suspected as much. It’s an asus vivobook M5402RA with the latest bios.
You may, or may not be able to dive into your laptops BIOS and poke around in those settings to get this enabled. Some have the charge threshold settings in there.
