In Dolphin is there a way to open a folder in a new window instead of a new tab? I have tried to change settings in Dolphin but it just keeps opening a folder in one window and not opening a folder in a 2nd window. I know I can right click a folder and choose “Open in A New Window”, but I was thinking more like double clicking the folder to open it in a new window. Maybe some alteration to a config? file?
I really dislike the tabs . I find it awkward when moving files.
Shift+Dobleclick opens in new window.
Thank you @hui - grateful for that tip.
I used to be able to just double left click on another folder and it would open in another window. Is there no work around to get this “feature” back?
Not quite sure if this is what you’re after, but you can have Dolphin open a new window when clicking on white space in a given window…
Settings > Configure Dolphin > View > Background: Double click triggers > New Window (by default it is set to “Nothing”)

Thank You @deano_ferrari , that comes closer to what I want, but, not trying to be picky I would like to double click on a specific folder and have it open in a new window.
Fair enough. ![]()
I can only suggest you open a topic at https://discuss.kde.org/ and discuss it there.
Thank you @ deano_ferrari
I will go there.
