Change /etc/resolv.conf file

Hi,
I’m trying to add “nameserver 192.168.56.3” to my /etc/resolv.conf file.
So far, i have tried add “192.168.56.3” NETCONFIG_DNS_STATIC_SERVERS in /etc/sysconfig/network/config file and then run “netconfig update -f” but my /etc/resolv.conf file still remains the same.
Any ideas what I should try?
Thanks a lot!

Wicked or Network Manager?

DHCP or not?

As you see alread 4 combinations possible. And there are more variations. So answer may differ from "edit /etc/resolv.conf directly (but read the comment there), via use YaST > System > Network Settings to …

Thank you for your reply! I have been able to solve my problem. I used NetworkManager but was trying to change that by Wicked. Silly me. Thanks again.

Nice you solved it. Sometimes only a little hint from an outsider is enough. That is one of the reasons the forums exist for.
