Can't see windows computers on network

I am just moving from Ubuntu to OpenSuse 11.

When I go to networks I can see “Windows Networks” but when I click on it none of my other window computers show up.

I have modified my /etc/samba/smb.conf to point to the correct workgroup, but none of the other computers in this workgroup show up.

I don’t know where to go from here.

Make sure nmb service is started.

It was the firewall, thanks.

And how would one make sure that it is started? There is no service or package named nmb service. Downing the firewall completely makes it possible to browse a windows network but surely there must be a less intrusive option?

Regards
Jens

I’m having the same problem. Turning off the firewall lets me see the other computers on the network. It was working yesterday I don’t understand what happened.
nmb is not running in sysmon
How do I turn on nmb?

Open ports 137-139 and 445 in your firewall and re-try.

You can set those in Custom Rules in the Firewall configuration utility.
