Can't mount USB3 HD

I have a fully updated Tumbleweed/XFCE install.
When I plug in my external USB3 HD into a USB 2 port. I get the following:

I don’t remember if I have tried this drive under Tumbleweed, but it did mount under 13.2
The device does mount in a fully updated Debian Stretch install in a USB 2 port.
Can anyone tell me why this might be happening and how to fix it?

After a bunch of wrong assumptions on my part, user embar- (thanks, embar-!) got a solution for my problem. Perhaps it will help yours:

After a 24 hour shut down, I booted up, plugged the drive in… and it mounted. Not updates after the shutdown. I guess I’ll just have to keep a look on it.
