I am a long time Linux user and prefer the Mate desktop. I had a hard time getting the Mate desktop displayed during log in. What I had to do to finally get it displayed was with the comand “sudo zypper install mate-session-manager”. Now it is displayed in Log in but when I choose it the whole system freezes and will not go further; my only choice being a hard shut down and start over.
