I first of all tried to download and install from virtualbox.org, and it proceeded normally until a package dependency couldn’t be satisfied (the problem apparently on the virtualbox side).
I then reverted to the opensuse version but all I get is a bouncy icon. I have done a zypper update, but no luck yet.

It is installing without a depecy Issue.
Works here.

Did it start with
virtualbox
as User-Command?
If no, post the Output.
With the Oracle version, it was looking for a file in opensuse, but the filename had changed. This should have been updated on the oracle side. Most probably the change ocurred between 13.1 and 13.2 and the binaries on the oracle side are still for 13.1
VirtualBox: Error -11 in supR3HardenedMainInitRuntime!
VirtualBox: supR3PreInit failed with rc=-11
Please post:
zypper lr -uP
zypper se -si virtualb vbox kernel
And I think, that Output was not all when you start Virtualbox…
You have done a fresh Install of openSUSE 13.2?

The binaries are for openSUSE 12.3 to 13.2…

Yes it was a fresh install.
When I got the error message it also gave a hint “Try a fresh install of virtualbox”, so I removed the virtualbox packages in yast.
So would you recommend I try the oracle binaries as you have it listed?
Virtualbox is working, the Suse-Version, the Virtualization-Repo-Version and the original Oracle-Version are working.
So install what you mean…
I re-installed “zypper in virtualbox”
and got the same result

It looks like there are too many kernels - but I’m not sure what to do
vboxgtk is not working, install virtualbox-qt
It is working after installing virtualbox-qt - thank you for your assistance.

After installing the “Oracle” version don’t for get to create the
modules needed for VB to run. You need to be root to run the following
command by using
CODE
su -
CODE
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup

Should have worded this different…

During the install of VB the kernel modules should have been created but
if there was a problem they can be created again by the following commands:
