Hey,
I’m really lost here. After a fresh TW install the “Media Sharing” Option was missing under “Sharing”. Installing Rygel fixed this problem and I thought now I can use media sharing as usual, but it’s still not working. I can turn on/off everything and add/remove folders etc., but the problem is that my TV can’t find my active share. I’m new to TW and not 100% sure if this problem is only related to TW, but I’m coming from Manjaro Gnome (which is still running) and there everything is working fine and my TV immediatley lists the share after activation. Only diffrence is that Manjaro is not running Gnome 43 yet.
Media sharing is kind of important for me, because I almost use it daily, so I would be really thankful for any advice or solution!
Did you follow this guide?

Yes, but that’s not the option I’m looking for. “Media Sharing” is in the gnome-control-center not nautilus.
I’m not familiar with Rygel, but check that the firewall is not the cause of this issue.
Thank you! The firewall seems to be part of my issue, but it was already turned off. I had to turn off AppArmor too and now everything is working great :shame:
Okay I was a bit hasty here it’s still not working. I thought after seeing the PC and all shared files the problem is solved, but I had not tried to access a file. When I’m trying to access a file via VLC on my phone or TV I get an error that I can’t access the file.
I can’t find anything useful in the systemd logs, AppArmor and Firewall are turned off. Today I tested a few other distros via live-usb to see if I get a similar problem on the same machine, but everything just worked ootb. Also tried leap-live and there “Media Sharing” wasn’t in the settings like after my TW installation. Any idea what’s blocking the access? Do I need to add me to a special user group or something else?
