does anyone know what happened to blackbox? i had it installed on 10.2 but i can’t find it anymore on the repositories on 11.0! (i’ve oss and non-oss). i’ve looked on the package list on en.opensuse.org/Package_List and it is not listed (10.2 and 10.3 have it but 11.0 not). I have googled a bit but i haven’t found anything saying that it has been removed or asking where it is… any help would be appreciated (no third party repositories please, i know it could be on these but i’m not using them for production servers) thank you!
fluxbox isn’t on the repositories either (nothing new, it wasn’t on older versions) and i’ve asked myself a lot of times WHY? we need one of these and we have now none of them on suse. ****!
If you consider this repo third party you wont get blackbox:
Index of /repositories/X11:/windowmanagers/openSUSE_11.0/
The BuildServiceSearch on the download page helps pretty much with every package you are searching. In that case I would only call the repos that are actually from members third party. This one is more likely a more official one in my opinion.
thank you for your answer KingLz!
i do not understand why it has been removed from the repositories, it’s the first time i see this happening. removing packages can really cause trouble to companies that use them on their servers. we will stay on 10.3 for now, and if it is not included in the official repositories again i fear we will need to consider using another distribution on our next mayor upgrade. this is a very very bad precedent for opensuse. we can’t relly on having the same happening to other packages. on the other hand desktop is no problem… thank you again for your help
