Hello guys
After sometime, yesterday I installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed to give it another try. It was a Clean install from the latest Snapshot available and the system is fully updated. When I try to open a .ymp file (downloaded from software.opensuse.org) I get an error saying:
Internal error. Please report a bug report with logs.
Run save_y2logs to get complete logs.
Caller: /usr/share/YaST2/modules/XML.rb:168:in `XMLToYCPFile'
Details: Failed to load Module 'UserSettings' due to: Cannot find XML file
I saw another topic here, which users were also complaining about this issue, but no one provided any logs, so I opened a new one in hope to get it resolved.
I have the tar.xz file resulted from save_y2logs command, but I’m not sure should I upload all of it or another log will help.
Thanks.
YMP files can be opened only by an openSUSE branded Firefox (Firefox downloaded and installed from an openSUSE repository), it has a special MIME type added that allows Firefox to know what to do with the file. Note that if you downloaded the YMP file and simply executed it (eg double click), unless you have a file association set to associate the file with Firefox, you’ll likely get a fail.
This means that…
If you downloaded the file (inadvisable but can be made to work), you have to be certain to open with Firefox, eg open the browser first, then from the menu “Open…” and browse to your YMP file.
If you’re running the file from a web hyperlink, you must use Firefox from openSUSE… You cannot use Firefox from some other repo like mozilla, and you can’t use any of the other web browsers like Chromium, Konqueror, Opera, Falkon, etc.
