Hi,
i exported o a number of emails from the windows live mail client in eml format. Now i want to import them in thunderbird, i selected: Extra -> import -> Emails and then a blank window appeared, its topic implies that i have to select something but there is nothing to select. Maybe i am just on the wrong way.
How can i import emails im eml format? Btw. i can open the eml files with thunderbird.
I want to store them in local thunderbird directorys.
You might want to install an addon called ImportExportTools for Thunderbird - you can find it from Thunderbirds “Get Add-ons” -> type Import Export Tools into the search box and then pick Show All Results from the bottom.
It will create a new menu under the Tools button after you restart Thunderbird.
Alternatively you could try to drag the .eml file into one of your existing folders, that used to work on OS X and Windows.
I do not have it in my list, maybe my version is to old? I am using 24.6.0 this is the version from the official repositorys.
Moving the emls by hand did not work.
Problem solved: i installed the addon manually, i downloaded it from this source: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
With this addon i was able to import all my mails.
Thank you for your help.
