Can not get past "select CD-Rom Boot type"

Hello,

I want to install openSUSE 13.1 on a MacBook Pro (3.1, late 2006)
There is a bug on this device which prevents the keyboard working after booting from CD/DVD, the solution would be to plug in a USB keyboard while GRUB showes up.

But on the latest openSUSE install media (since a while like 12.1 or sooner) before GRUB shows up there is preselection which looks like

1. Legacy (isolinux)

2. UEFI (elilo)
Select CD-ROM Boot Type:

At this stage also a pluged in USB keyboard is not working.

Any chance to modfiy the install media before burning them so option 1 is selected by default?
Maybe i can report this as a bug or suggest improvments on this (like a timer which selects legacy by it self after a while?)

thanks a lot for any reply

Okay, i should have probably done some research before.

I thought the CD-Rom Boot Type selection was part of openSUSE since i tried a gentoo live meadia as well which did boot - shame on me.
This selection only shows up by using a x64 media and is part of Apples EFi which i did not expected since it gave me that isolinux and elilo options (might have something to do with refind)…
There seems to be a solution to this by pressing 1 + Enter key while the DVD loads, however that only did write me the 1 into the command prompt but leaving me without any way to continue.

I’m taking now a 32 bit install media, maybe changing to 64 bit on the fly later on.
