I have installed Opensuse 12.1 today as a replacement for my ubuntu system. I am unable to find the cache folder for online software installation and update.
Usuall in ubuntu the location will be /var/cache/apt/. But when i checked /var/cache/zypp/, i am unable to find any rpms.
Please let me know where i can fine the rpms. if this option is not enabled by default, let me know how to configure it.
lots of things are done in different ways here: just use YaST or zypper
to install the software you need…
you will learn a lot about the differences between Ubuntu and openSUSE
in these two threads (be sure and read the entire threads…because some
of the info in the first postings are incorrect):
No luck, Checked in /var/cache/zypp already and the size of the folder is only 55mb where as i have already downloaded almost 300mb of updates and applications…

Zypper has also a command switch to do the same, and another that applies
the setting to all repos. The rpms are stored under /var/cache/zypp/
packages/*
