Bugzilla: account already exists

It’s been many years since I used my OpenSuse account. Now that I’m back, I did manage to reset my password and get access to this forum. However, when going to bugzilla it prompts me to login using the Suse IDP (works) and upon redirect back into bugzilla, there’s an error: There is already an account with the login name xxx. I think because back in the day there was no centralized IDP and I created a separate account on bugzilla.

As far as I can see there is no plain password login anymore to work-around the issue.

Is there a place I can raise a ticket instead of bugzilla?

@muhlemmer The login system for bugzilla changed, so you need to contact the SUSE folks for that, it’s not part of the openSUSE Infrastructre or Heroes team…

Any pointers on getting in touch with Suse folks? I don’t really get anything useful at suse.com except for commercial support offers.

@muhlemmer It’s on the Bugzilla-page :wink:

Hello @muhlemmer !
I have the same problem as you, and I spent some time to find a workaround (I haven’t been able to access the forum for some time either). I have already emailed the Bugzilla admins without success. Did it work for you?
Thanks for your answer. Sorry for reviving this old thread.

I’m having this same problem. I sent an email to bugzilla admins on June 9 and still haven’t heard anything and still can’t log in. I even created a new user and got an email that successfully confirmed my account but I still got an error when trying to log in.

@pilotgi send a followup email? But things might be slow this week… SUSECon and the openSUSE Conference…

Hello @pilotgi! If it happens to work for you. Please let me know, I will try to ask them again to restore my access as well.

Not only have I not heard from them, when I requested a token for a password reset, I got nothing. Very frustrating.

Yesterday I created a new account with a different email and I was able to log in. I have no idea what is wrong with the email I usually use, which is the same one I use for this forum.

In case anyone is interested, I just used my duck duck go alias email which goes to my gmail account anyway.
