Have you guys noticed that in these few recent updates, if you insert your headphones into the microphone jack, it overwrites the change volume sound to the default “bubble pop” sound or if you pull your headphones out, it does the same?
Which desktop environment are you referring to?
Oops sorry forgot to mention. KDE Wayland on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (for the past few builds last week, I don’t remember which build it started happening).
There was a PipeWire update. The issue still persists. It seems to happen when there is a change in audio output (i.e: insert headphones, eject headphones, insert HDMI to a monitor with speakers and uninsert). On KDE 6.4.1 Wayland.
A Kernel sound update was just released for 20250701. It still…does not fix the issue.
On Build 20250704 with KDE 6.4.2. The issue is still not resolved.
Submit a bug report. Details from inxi -MSAaz
will be a minimum.
On Build 20250714 on KDE. Right now, it seems to be fixed. I will update this thread if the problem still persists.
It doesn’t happen anymore.
