Breeze splash screen

for a long time now (6 months or more) the Breeze splash screen (startup screen) doesn’t work.
Going in to system settings > startup and shut down > splash screen
selecting Breeze . . .
Plasma continues ot use the opensuse splash screen
Selecting any other splash screen works fine.
This appears to be a bug specific to opensuse / plasma
This is reproducible on a brand new install

Anybody else seeing this?

last tested in plasma 5.19.5 on opensuse snapshot 20201008

Not sure how much this will help you out but when it comes to my setup if you go to where you showed in system settings click the Get New Splash Screens. pick yourself some new ones from that installler and then if you see a scene on there like say you see one with a bird or a wolf that you like you would click install then you would go back and pick the scene with the bird from the screen then that will become your new splash screen. That’s how I fixed it for me.

Yes, I’m currently using “breeze-tumbleweed” which I downloaded. Downloading new splash screens works fine, it is just the pre-installed Breeze splash screen that comes installed by default that doesn’t work (on openSUSE).
