Boot loading screen appears after running dup (twice)

Hi. I’m new to Opensuse. I had encountered a problem when upgrading my laptop OS via zypper dup. during the upgrade all the packages downloaded and installed without any problem. dracut also ran without any issue but when the post transaction scripts running “update bluetooth kernel drives” appears and suddently the bootloading screen appeared with circulating circle with tumbleweed logo. i just let in run one and half hours but nothing happened so i force shut down my laptop. after restarting everything looks normal the system boots without any issue but I’m not sure if somewhere else in the system is broken. I have reinstalled Tumbleweed and ran dup then same thing happened again in the second time. any idea why is it happenening ?

There’s a known issue related to Plymouth. See System is automatically rebooting after updates - #5 by arvidjaar (for example) - also references a ML thread that goes into more detail.

You should be able to either stop plymouth prior to running the update, or just remove and taboo it to prevent it from being reinstalled.

thanks I’ll look into it
