Best way to change graphic card and driver?

In preparation to go to Leap 16.0, I’m changing graphic card from NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 with driver 470.256.02 to GeForce GT 1030 with driver G06-580.95.05 from the nvidia repository at Index of /opensuse/leap/15.6/x86_64.

I want to change cards in 15.6 so I can use the migration tool to 16.0.

System is:
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.6
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12
Kernel Version: 6.4.0-150600.23.73-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core Processor
(No Integrated Graphics; Discrete Graphics Card Required)
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710/PCIe/SSE2
Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Product Name: B550M DS3H

What is the best sequence to change the card and driver to get the GT 1030 running properly?

IMO, the safest way is to remove the NVidia drivers first, then migrate, then after migration is satisfactorily complete, install the correct NVidia drivers. Note I don’t use NVidia’s drivers, but I do read a lot about problems NVidia users report with NVidia’s drivers.
