I don’t know if it’s because I am running opensuse in VirtualBox or not but Banshee fails to start. well, it tries to. I get a busy cursor for a while then nothing.
If you start it from a terminal with: banshee
what info comes in the terminal
louis@linux-2ve8:~> banshee
If ‘banshee’ is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
cnf banshee
louis@linux-2ve8:~> cnf banshee
banshee: command not found
what’s interesting is I looked in /usr/share/applications and Banshee is in there three times
Try
banshee-1
You can do this to try and find banshee. Do this as root (su -)
zypper in findutils-locate
updatedb
locate banshee
What does it return when you try to locate banshee?
hmmm, I uninstalled then reinstalled it and it launches now… looks like there was both the normal and a development version installed?
btw, is there a shoutcast plugin for banshee?

In 11.3 the name of the application is banshee-1 not banshee, so I would try
it with that name in the terminal.
