Audio Devices Remain after Disconnect on Plasma 5.27

Greetings,

I have noticed an issue that is rather aggravating. I am running Plasma 5.27.7 on Tumbleweed and I am a heavy Bluetooth earbud user. Whenever I disconnect the device, the entry of that device remains in the applet. This means, after a while, throughout the day, I will have quite a list of “Everyday Earbuds” and I am not sure which one is the actual unless I go into the system settings application.

I don’t know where exactly this topic should go but “multimedia” seemed like a good place to start. It’s not really a hardware issue as the audio works fine otherwise.

Perhaps this just belongs as a bug report but I wanted to have a conversation with someone about it first.

Thank you!

Not sure about this. Possibility related to this issue?

Looks like there is a fix in the works already. I will just wait patiently at this point. It isn’t really worth making a big deal over although it is rather annoying.

A work around is to periodically clear them out by running this:

systemctl --user restart pipewire.service

Though, on another system it basically crashed my audio devices and I had to log out and log back in.

If it doesn’t get resolved in the next week, I’ll write up a bug report.

I can confirm that this bug has been resolved as of Tumbleweed Snapshot 20230822
