ATI driver installation does not insert kernel module?

Hi

I have just tried to install the ATI driver with the one-click installation: ATI - openSUSE

The problem now is, that if I run fglrx info I get the following.

fglrxinfo

X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 142 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 15
Current serial number in output stream: 15

Also if I run

lsmod | grep fglrx

I get an empty result. So the there is no kernel module for fglrx (which I assume there should be).

So my question is: can be true that the one-click install does not work and I will have to install by downloading the driver from ati.com?

Any experience with this?

Regards
Suen

I ended up downloading and installing from the Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

Remember first to install kernel-source and gcc.
