Applications Needed

Hi guys,

New SUSE user. On windows i used to used Daemon Tools which was great to mount images on. Is there an equivalent or even something better that will do the same job?

Also im a user of Spotify. Can this be used on Linux or is there something different i can use. Ill come up with more soon.

i’ve never used either of those apps so can’t recommend a one-for-one
replacement, but have a look for alternatives here:

Linux can mount ISOs. If you use Gnome, you can just right click the ISO file, else it can be done on the command line.

Uwe

Linux can do natively everything daemon tools can do. That’s the advantage
of the linux mount system - any disk image file can be mounted at any time
anywhere.

As for Spotify, its a commercial service, the only way is to run it under
wine (a compatibility layer that lets you run Windows programs under Linux)
Thankfully they do support this and give some tips
http://www.spotify.com/int/help/faq/wine/

Daemon Tools = Acetoneiso2 . Use Software.openSUSE.org for searching your proper version and install it.
Spotify = despotify - the open source Spotify client and library
