Following the update to Gnome 48, the AppIndicator and Kstatus NotifierItem extensions no longer work.
Fedora has created a package to address this issue.
Do you have a solution for Opennsuse Tumblewed?

Upstream didn’t provide a version for 48 yet. You need to wait. Or convince the upstream developers to provide a new version.
If you provide a link to this package someone may try to build it for openSUSE.
There was a similar thread about a month ago, maybe this could help?
@ jjis j’ai regardé, mais trop complexe je doute qu’à la prochaine mise à jour cela fonctionne.
Je vais patienter, mais je comprends mieux pourquoi pop os réalise Cosmic pour s’affranchir des modules qui ne fonctionnement pas à chaque mise à jour.

On Fedora I did:
udo dnf install gnome-shell-extension-appindicator
Then search and enable the main extension from the gnome extensions site
I moved to Tray Icons Reloaded out of frustration with this
