When i attempt to open a particular app, the process starts but the app is not allocated a window. What should I do to correct this?
Restart does not help. I am running under GNOME. The app starts well under another user.

If you haven’t yet, open a windowed CLI and execute the app at the command line. Any informative error(s), warning(s), etc written back?
App starts in the CLI as normal but no app window opens, no CLI messages, no termination of command. Ctrl-Z needed to regain control of CLI.
Which app is it? As you indicated that it starts under another user, you may try to remove/move/rename the settings/caches/configs for this app in your home directory.
I found one file in the .<app name>folder that I copied over from the test user. It works after that now!!
Many thanks for the tip!
