I downloaded from the suse repository (Index of /distribution/12.2/repo/oss/suse/i586)](http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.2/repo/oss/suse/i586/) as I don’t have internet on teh computer I want to install it on.
I’m really after LAMP but Apache is the first step. I get unmet dependencies “libapr-1.so.o and libcrypto.so.6”. I installed openssl-0.9.6h-1.i386.rpm as a google search gave me that as a source of he libapr and now I get the libcrypto by Apache. Does someone have a simple solution or am I at the front end of a long dependency trace?
I would be very thankful for help that gets LAMP on that box.

Apache2 from where? The default and update versions don’t show a
requirement for libcrypto…?

Thanks Malcolm, I got it from the official repository as mentioned in my original post. I get the unmet dependencies when I try to install it through yast. I downloaded a bunch of rpms and made a cd then added that as a repositiry and tried to install from there and got the dependencies. I do see your point from the link you gave I would presume the dependencies mentioned aren’t needed so why do I get the message?
Malcolm, I inspected the name of the files and there is a difference. The file mentioned in the link you gave is "apache2-2.2.22-4.14.1.i586.rpm " the file I downloaded is ‘‘apache2-2.22-4.7.1.i586’’. I checked again and that is the file in teh repository so where can I get the later one?
I found the file and still get the same dependency problem.
If I am doing something totally stupid I profusely apologize.
If it helps I installed suse12.2 downloaded from the opensuse site two days ago and have not done anything else except attempt to install my modem (usb mobile broadband Iinet) . I have not added anything at all. I will be starting a thread re the internet and modem as I feel that it might solve present problem. BUT I really don’t want internet connection on that box and do want LAMP.

Normally you would use the standard repository and the update
repository;
http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.2/
So download the files you need from the above repo.

So where did you get this rpm openssl-0.9.6h-1.i386.rpm from, you need to ensure any of the rpms come from either the 12.2 repositories and/or the update one. Please uninstall and try again.
Thanks for your help Malcolm. I solved the issue by getting the mobile internet working. I then was able to refresh the repositories and use Yast to install Lamp by going through ‘patterns’ .
I found I had to use the numbers for APN not the name ( 50502 not iinet). Both problems solved now so I am happy. Thank you for the help it kept me thinking and trying.lol!:good:
