Anyone having problem updating to kernel 7.1.4-1.1

I’m having trouble with monitor detection after upgrading to kernel 7.1.4-1.1
Even in init 3 I am losing the monitor video so I can’t reinstall the nvidia driver.
I booted in init 3 with nomodeset still no go.

I locked the kernel for now and I revert back to using the kernel 7.1.3-1
I am using the .run driver

@conram did you try a different DP port or even HDMI and of course check the connections/cable(s)?

I’m using the cuda repo, all good with my RTX 4000 (Turing).

Yep, I tried a different DP port and it worked. It was in DP 1 previously now connected it to DP2 and voila things working now .

Maybe something changed in the kernel and device mapping? Sure it just wasn’t the cable connection?

Could be a cable connection but when I boot the textmode show up but the display is disconnected at the end of the boot process. Display is cut when it reach the login prompt.

Sounds like something is swapping, maybe peruse the system journal…

I will try to look at it. The cpu graphics is turned off in the bios if it is relevant.

It was such a long lines of journals I take a look. I saw nothing pertaining to my issue. Im not much to reading long lines because of my eyes problem thats why I am using a big screen on my machine. Thank you so much for helping.
