I noticed today, for the first time, that the Packman packagers are now packaging an application called “UEFI tool”.
I have no current plans to use such (hence this is not a support request) but rather I am curious to learn, and hence I was wondering if anyone on our forum had the occasion to use such and have some insight / comments on its use to provide (so to help educate the rest of us).
UEFITool is a cross-platform C++/Qt program for parsing, extracting and modifying UEFI firmware images.
It supports parsing of full BIOS images starting with the flash descriptor or any binary files containing UEFI volumes.
Original development was started here at MDL forums as a cross-platform analog to PhoenixTool’s structure mode with some additional features, but the program’s engine was proven to be usefull for another projects like UEFIPatch, UBU and OZMTool.

Seems like it’s needed for DSDT issues more than anything else?
Had a play with it and it loaded the bin file for this machine (HP), all
gobble-de-gook to me
I prefer to stick with the nvram with either the efi shell or efivars.

For me any tool that can rip apart UEFI is okay in my book, UEFI is the work of anti linux donky brains and payback is a four letter word that rhymes with witch
