Annoying Sound Bar Issue

I have just had to reinstall openSUSE 13.2 (64bit) due to major hardware failure.
I did a complete clean install and reformatted every drive.

For some reason now; on the left hand side of my screen an annoying vertical volume bar keeps appearing.
It looks as though it is playing a sound as the volume goes from 0 to 100% in the indicator, but no sound is playing??

I am running Gstreamer backend and phonom.

Just want to get rid of the annoying pop up bar!!

Fixed.

The issue was with my monitor. Think it’s packing up; the sound bar was actually the monitors; it’s also started to do some strange stuff, switching inputs on its own etc…
