Hi,
Has anybody got an android device (specifically a Nexus 10) to connect with Suse 12.3 for read and write access?
I’ve done what’s recommended here: https://forums.opensuse.org/blogs/caf4926/using-android-mtp-device-nexus-7-kde-opensuse-12-3-128/
but I can’t copy stuff from Suse12.3 to my android N10.
thx
Ives
A Nexus 7 Yes and Nexus 4 phone Yes.

care to tell me what you did to be able to copy data to your nexus?
thx
Connect it to my USB
As MTP device from the setting option in the Android device
For me I was never able to get this working on openSUSE 12.3
It works fine in Ubuntu and even Manjaro linux but not here.
You may want to forget about it for now and if you still have windows use windows for the MTP stuff.
Its a shame that openSUSE doesnt have go-mtpfs like ubuntu does right now.

Hi
It’s there;
software.opensuse.org:
In fact has been around since ‘Sat Sep 22 12:13:21 UTC 2012’
I use jmtpfs, but generally it can be the udev rule not having the device id as well…
I must have missed that, though i installed most everything to get MTP working in openSUSE but no dice.
Though makes me wonder what repo there I could have used?
Hard to tell what the differences are

Hi
Always go for a package development repo, they are the path to Factory and the distribution
So I should try that next time then.
I may try openSUSE again in virtualbox or something to see if it can work.
I dont want to re install based on false hopes.
I just installed mtpfs with zypper, my LG phone connects to my laptop well.
Mybe you could read this article ck :: How to mount Android (MTP)-Storage on Linux (openSuSE 12.1) ::
Still can’t connect. I have installed almost everything in many tutorial about mtp. It just says “mtp died unexpectedly” every time I try to copy a file.
yeah it6s a major weakness in openSUSE and is a main reason why I am not using it right now.
Hopefully in 13.1 it will work, heres hoping.
