I’m trying to get Amarok 2 to play, but nothing. I select a song, there’s no error message and no music.
All other players (Songbird, Banshee, Rhythmbox, Audacious, MPD) work and I have installed all codecs I could, so I guess it’s an Amarok problem.
Any ideas? I’m using x86-64 openSUSE 11.1. Output from rpm on installed packages:

Try installing mySQL.
I have it installed, as can be seen from this:

which is it. Why do you have kde3-amarok-libvisual
Rather than try to get Amarok 2 to play, it may be easier just to stick with Amarok 1.4 for now.
wrt Amarok-1.4, many times it is simply easier to install a version of Amarok packaged by Pacmkan packagers, as opposed to trying to get some one elses packaged Amarok to work.
Still, you should check the sound engine selected in Amarok to ensure it is not causing this.
In my case I have packman packaged Amarok apps installed. On my 64-bit PC, I get:

I can use both the yauap sound engine and the xine sound engine, although I prefer the xine engine (where I have libxine1 installed from packman).
i had a similar issue (in fedora) with amarok 2.
go to the advanced settings for amarok, change the sound engine, and then change it back. then restart amarok.
sounds stupid but worked for me and some other guys with the same problem.
