After using Yast sound to add sound card . . . no sound?

@deano_ferrari:

Alrighty, added that package via Yast and it installed that and as you mentioned, removed 7 packages and added something . . . “wire-plumber”??? Seems to have gone OK, sound is working in the twitter.

Had to log out to get the revised “inxi -A” data . . . .

:~> inxi -A
Audio:

  Device-2: NVIDIA GK110 High Definition Audio driver: snd_hda_intel

  Sound Server-2: PipeWire v: 0.3.54 running: yes

Ok, so now you have pipewire being used exclusively.

Here’s some information about wireplumber (a session and policy manager for pipewire that replaced pipewire-media-session)…

@deano_ferrari:

Is that what you want for me, to just have pipewire running the sound garten???

Most desktop users running TW will be using it by default. (I’ve switched to using it with Leap since last year.)

@deano_ferrari:

Cool. I’m now running my Sys76 laptop in Pop_OS Jammy edition and I just ran an upgrade that loaded a number of different “pipewire” packages . . . seems like everybody is doing it. As posted, there were some dependency issues with it awhile back, so I locked it to move forward, as per recommendation from the forum . . . .

Now I’m back on track with the TW system as per zypper . . . .
