I updated my system on Saturday. When I restarted the computer the next day, I got the white screen of death. I did find a workaround for it by using a different bootloader at startup (an older one).
When I tried to update (after using the different bootloader) and using YAST, it would crash because it couldn’t lock the .lock.rpm file. That occurred when it was trying to work with libreoffice-base - couldn’t update or remove the module. Zypper also would not remove or change libreoffice-base because it couldn’t lock the .lock.rpm file. I don’t know what happened.
I’m also having problems with Firefox. It stops showing videos after a certain point (I didn’t notice anything but it would just stop playing them and showing the indicator for waiting on more data). I’ve also had random problems with mouse and keyboard - no pattern noticed yet and it’s happened only a couple of times.
I’m not sure where to start. I’m using Leap15.6, Gnome (old style) on a Dell system 4.0ghz, 16gb ram, factory (IBM) video, multiple monitors.
Any suggestions where to look or how to fix this issue would be appreciated. I need to get this system up and useable ASAP.
