adjust locked session time out

How do I adjust the amount of idle time before my session blanks the screen and locks the session? I have tried adjusting Kpowersave and even disabled it but apparently that is not related to the session lockouts as the screen will still blank and lock the session. Please be descriptive in the solution. Thanks for any help, I am using ver 11.1 KDE.

kpowersave is a kde3 application, are you using kde3?

kde4’s equivalent is powerdevil.

Eitherway, I usually disable just about all powersave features and screensavers which also lock the screen.
